During Reading Time...
During reading time we all do different activities... one of the activities we can do is writing on the whiteboards.
Using iPads in our learning day
We love to use the iPads in our learning day.
Some of the ways we use them are:
We learn to spell words with art glow - Lucy
We learn numbers - Saoirse
We learn some games to help us read and do maths - Tyler
We take photos and make videos of our learning - Lucy
We do handwriting on the iPads - Jess
Every day we use them more and more and so excited to share our learning with you.

Book Week 2012
We have had such fun during Book Week this week. Each day we had some activity involving books - we read books with each other, with other students, read with our Grandparents and fathers and did lots of dressing up.
We raised over $1400 to purchase new books for our school library - so thank you so much!

Olympics Friday
In Ruma Ruru we are loving the Olympics and are so proud of all the athletes.
To celebrate the Olympics at Goodwood we held our own Olympics complete with opening and closing ceremony.
We adopted a country and represented them in our age groups participating in events.
Here are a few photos from the day and some of the medal ceremonies!

Rainbow Writing
Melissa read a story in a Junior Journal about Rainbow Writing. On Friday she followed the instructions and 'made' some Rainbow Writing.
This is how she did it.
First get some pastels and colour some stripes down the page
Next place a piece of paper over the rainbow writing and turn both pages over (The rainbow page is face down on top!).
Next have a think of what you want to write and then write your message...
Then the real fun bit...

Telling the Time
We are looking at learning all about time!
We have discovered that there are analog and digital clocks.
Analog clocks are...
The round clock says Hannah.
They have all the numbers on them says Lucy.
They have hands says Tyler.
They have three hands - the hour hand, the minute hand and the second hand says Annelise and Hannah.
Digital clocks are...
Rectangle ones says Hannah.
They look like computer numbers says Jonte.
They can beep with an alarm says Melissa.
We had a think about where you find analog and digital clocks in our homes...
Analog clocks hang on our kitchen and lounge walls. Some of us have them in our rooms.
Digital clocks can be found on a microwave, oven, even in the car. Some of us have them as alarm clacks in our room or in our Mum's and Dad's rooms.
Some clocks have 'swings' on them like Grandfather clocks and some make a cuckoo sound.
We like this youtube clip to learn to tell the time. Sing along with it!
