Wacky Hair Day - Westpac Air Ambulance

Today is Wacky Hair Day. The student council organised Wacky Hair Day to raise awareness and funds to support Westpac Air Ambulance.

We looked Wacky!

After morning tea, the Westpac Air Ambulance landed on the field at school. In the chopper was Jerome Kaino! Jerome told us over 5000 people used the air ambulance service last year in New Zealand. He thinks the air ambulance is a great thing to support because it rescues us where ever we are.

The Juniors had lots of interesting questions for Jerome... Do you know Richie McCaw? How many tries have you got? What number is your jersey?

Dan, the pilot, also talked to us about the air ambulance and what he does. They are there to help us 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

We had some questions for Dan too... How old is the helicopter? Can it fly at night?

Hannah, our class councillor, reported that our school raised $690 to support the Air Ambulance.

We would like to say to you - thank you!

  10. Wow almost $700 raised for the air ambulance! All that money you raised goes directly to helping people in need and saving lives. Great work, kids! And it must have been pretty cool to see the helicopter land on the field at school.
